The outsides were finished with a mix of stains and bright colors that brings to mind a Gauguin or Monet painting brought to life. The insides are modernized with air con and hot water, then furnished with antiques and rattan pieces. .

In keeping with the theme of recycled wood the restaurant and bar are 90% made of old "perahu" Belitung's traditional fishing craft. We bought 5 of them that were no longer sea worthy off the local fishing captains. When we first got started there was a lot of why are these crazy white people buying wrecked houses and sinking boats . We chain sawed, tore apart and used as much as we could to create a restaurant that even the localist local now think is awesome. For our boat shaped pool we used local granite slabs from a bankrupt granite factory to line it. Boating to granite monoliths jutting out of the sea is one of the most popular tours here and our pool is an attraction itself. The main pool is 1.5 meters and the back pool is for dive training at 2.5 m. a water fall connects the two.

When you stay at Rock and Wreck you get a whole cool house on the awesome white sand beach with a great view of turquoise seas not some cubicle in a blocky high rise. With daily boat tours, snorkeling and diving there are plenty of ways to enjoy the sea here.
